Santa Cruzin' with DLX

Loaded up the Lowcard Dump Truck and headed South with a couple heads for a reported DLX demo at some skate shop. Good times were had at the demo and even BETTER times were had on the road. Took The One all the way, saw some shit, and made some new friends...

Typical Santa Cruz local doing it DAF like it should be done. This guy stayed for the whole demo and downed at least three free energy drinks with his Gilbey's Vodka. Just ripping, man...

This was by far the best obstacle at the demo and the only team rider worth watching. This kid was repping Spits and charging the kicker to flat bar fearlessly. Killing it! I don't remember who else skated...

This Gonzo journalist decided to start brown bagging it half way through the trip. For some reason there was a trampoline abandoned along the highway around Pigeon Point. The drunk scribe thought it would be a good idea to do a couple gainers, take a piss, and leave a Heavy sticker behind. Little did he know he left his phone there on the side of the road as well...

Got a call from a good ol boy claiming he found Atwood's phone while "trimming some weeds" next to the road. We told him we were at The Demo and couldn't meet him till later. The boy was cool with that and said he'd be waiting for us at  Duarte's in Pescadero. I've drained a few there myself in the past so I was keen to show the boys how they do it in Cow Town. Besides beer, weeds, and wood piles, they also have a pretty good Mexican restaurant/gas station in Pescadero. Grabbed a couple road sodas and headed North. Here's the spot. Go find it.

This shady looking state worker was waiting out front for us. What the fuck...

Shit, the good ol boy was cool as fuck and invited us into Duarte's for a couple of drinks. He said he only made a couple of long distance calls on the found phone and was stoked to find the rightful owner. He mentioned something about meditating out in the weeds next to the highway on the State's dime and how karma led him to the phone which rested under the trampoline.

The good ol boy let us buy him a black and tan but wouldn't accept cash for the phone. He said he had everything he needed out in the weeds and karma would pay him back ten fold.

Duarte still tends bar. He said, "that's a load of shit." We said our goodbye's and hit the road, properly lubed and loose for the next spot...

Epic wall ride. Hit that shit.

"Can I help you?" uh. No, we were just leaving. Thanks. Next spot...

Not a back Smith...

Not even a trick...

This guy was stoked just to be skating...

Back at the Lowcard HQ Shane was getting freshhhhh....
